Digital Preservation Policy

Policy Statement
The International Journal of Research on Multidisciplinary Studies (IJROMS) is committed to the long-term preservation and accessibility of all published scholarly content. The journal ensures that its digital materials remain secure, accessible, and usable for future generations of researchers.

Preservation Strategy

IJROMS implements a multi-layered digital preservation approach to safeguard published content against data loss, technical failure, or unforeseen events.

This includes:

  • Regular backup of all journal content and metadata
  • Storage in secure and reliable digital environments
  • Use of stable publishing platforms to ensure consistent access

Archiving Systems

To ensure long-term preservation, IJROMS utilizes recognized archiving and preservation systems, including:

  • PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) for Open Journal Systems (OJS)
  • Institutional and national repositories
  • Secure cloud-based backup systems

These systems ensure redundancy and protect content from loss or corruption.

Permanent Accessibility

  • All published articles remain permanently accessible through the journal website
  • Articles are assigned persistent identifiers to ensure stable access
  • Archived content remains available even in the event of system migration or platform changes

Metadata Preservation

  • Complete metadata, including author information, abstracts, keywords, and references, is preserved alongside full-text articles
  • Metadata is maintained in standardized formats to support indexing, discovery, and interoperability

Version Control and Integrity

  • Any updates, corrections, or retractions are clearly documented and linked to the original publication
  • Original versions of articles are preserved to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record

Contingency and Recovery Plan

In the event of system failure, cyber threats, or data loss:

  • Backup systems are used to restore content promptly
  • Alternative hosting solutions may be activated to maintain access
  • Technical recovery procedures are implemented to minimize disruption

Commitment to Long-Term Access

IJROMS is committed to ensuring that all published research remains accessible, reliable, and preserved over time. The journal continuously reviews and improves its preservation practices to align with international standards for digital archiving and scholarly communication.
