The International Journal of Research on Multidisciplinary Studies (IJROMS) supports transparency, reproducibility, and integrity in research. Authors are required to provide a clear Data Availability Statement indicating how the data supporting their study can be accessed or why it cannot be shared.
Purpose of Data Availability
This policy ensures that:
- Research findings can be verified and validated
- Data transparency is promoted
- Reproducibility of research is supported
- Ethical and responsible data sharing practices are followed
Data Availability Requirement
All submitted manuscripts must include a Data Availability Statement. This statement should describe:
- Where the data supporting the findings can be accessed
- Conditions for access, if applicable
- Reasons for restricted or unavailable data
Manuscripts without a Data Availability Statement may be returned for completion before review.
Types of Data Availability Statements
Authors may use one of the following statements, as applicable:
1. Openly Available Data
“The data that support the findings of this study are openly available in [repository name] at [link or DOI].”
2. Available Upon Request
“The data that support the findings of this study are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request.”
3. Restricted Data
“The data that support the findings of this study are not publicly available due to [ethical, legal, or privacy restrictions] but may be available from the corresponding author under certain conditions.”
No Data Generated
“No new data were created or analyzed in this study.”
Recommended Data Sharing Practices
Authors are encouraged to:
- Deposit data in recognized public or institutional repositories
- Provide persistent identifiers (e.g., DOI or stable links)
- Share data in accessible and standard formats
- Include sufficient documentation to allow reuse and verification
Ethical and Legal Considerations
Authors must ensure that:
- Data sharing complies with ethical standards and institutional requirements
- Participant confidentiality and privacy are protected
- Necessary permissions or consent have been obtained
- Sensitive or confidential data are handled appropriately
Editorial and Peer Review Responsibility
- Editors and reviewers may assess the adequacy of the Data Availability Statement
- Authors may be asked to provide additional information or clarification regarding their data
- Inconsistencies or concerns regarding data availability may affect the editorial decision
Non-Compliance
Failure to provide a Data Availability Statement may result in:
- Delay in the review process
- Return of the manuscript for revision
- Rejection if requirements are not met
