Artificial Intelligence Use Policy
Policy Statement
The International Journal of Research on Multidisciplinary Studies (IJROMS) recognizes the growing use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in research and academic writing. The journal supports responsible and ethical use of AI while ensuring that all published work maintains originality, accuracy, and academic integrity.
Definition of AI Tools
AI tools refer to software or systems that can generate, analyze, or modify text, images, data, or other research content. This includes, but is not limited to, AI-based writing assistants, data analysis tools, and automated content generators.
Acceptable Use of AI
Authors may use AI tools for the following purposes:
- Language editing and grammar improvement
- Improving clarity and readability of text
- Data analysis support, where appropriate
- Assistance in organizing or summarizing content
All use of AI must be supervised and verified by the authors.
Prohibited Use of AI
The following uses of AI are not allowed:
- Generating entire manuscripts or substantial portions of original research without human oversight
- Fabricating data, results, or references
- Creating misleading, false, or non-verifiable content
- Using AI in a way that replaces the intellectual contribution of the author
Authorship and Accountability
- AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors
- Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of their work
- All content generated or assisted by AI must be reviewed and validated by the authors
Disclosure Requirement
Authors must disclose the use of AI tools in their manuscript. The disclosure should include:
- The name of the AI tool used
- The purpose of its use
- The extent of its contribution
A disclosure statement may be included in the acknowledgment or a separate section of the manuscript.
Data and Ethical Considerations
- Authors must ensure that AI tools are used in compliance with ethical research standards
- Confidential or sensitive data must not be input into AI systems without proper authorization
- AI-generated outputs must not violate privacy, copyright, or data protection regulations
Reviewer Responsibilities
Reviewers must:
- Evaluate whether AI use has been properly disclosed
- Report any suspected misuse of AI tools
- Maintain confidentiality and avoid using AI tools that may compromise manuscript privacy
Editorial Responsibilities
Editors will:
- Assess disclosures related to AI use
- Ensure that AI use complies with journal policies and ethical standards
- Take appropriate action in cases of misuse, including rejection or retraction
Violations of Policy
Failure to comply with this policy may result in:
- Rejection of the manuscript
- Withdrawal of submission
- Retraction of published articles
- Restrictions on future submissions
